Tuesday is the first day back to school virtually for students in the Pennsbury School District.
PECO, as part of an ongoing maintenance project, had planned to shut off service at times between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Tuesday in parts of Falls Township.

Residents were concerned about the chance of power service going out on the first day of school where students need access to their virtual classes amid the pandemic.
After concerns were raised by residents and State Sen. Steve Santarsiero, PECO has delayed the work that would have caused possible power outages.
“As you may know the majority of school districts in our area are all conducting classes virtually for most of this fall and into the winter. Additionally, many employees are working from home. Therefore students, parents, teachers and many other residents are all depending on a reliable service of electric power and internet service from 7 a.m. through 5 p.m. weekdays for school and work,” Santarsiero wrote in a letter to PECO’s CEO.

Santarsiero said on Friday that the work is “currently being rescheduled.”
