Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Chief Frank Farry said the truck was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived and the driver was taken to St. Mary Medical Center by the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad for what appeared to be non-life-threatening burn injuries.
Flames reportedly rolled out as the driver attempted to grab the truck’s fire extinguisher.

It took fire crews from the Langhorne-Middletown and Falls Township fire companies about 15 minutes to knock down all the flames. About 1,000 gallons of water were used, Farry said.

The northbound lanes were shutdown due to the fire, and one lane was getting by as of 11:30 a.m.
The Middletown Fire Marshal’s Office was investigating the cause of the blaze.
