UPDATE: Cops Say Mother & Daughter Confessed To Role In Deaths Of Five Family Members

A mother and daughter were set to be arraigned early Tuesday morning for the death of five family members inside a Morrisville Borough apartment.

Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub announced late Monday night that Shana Decree, 45, and her daughter Dominique Decree, 19, were slated to be charged with the homicide deaths of their family members.

The deceased were Shana Decree’s daughter, Naa’Irah Smith, 25, and her son, Damon Decree Jr., 13, both of Morrisville; and Shana Decree’s sister, Jamilla Campbell, 42, of Trenton, and Campbell’s twin daughters, Erika and Imani Allen, both 9.

Shana and Dominique Decree had been treated at the hospital following the bodies of the five being discovered in a ground-floor residence at the Robert Morris Apartments on West Bridge Street around 4 p.m. Monday.

Weintraub said the two would be arraigned on homicide and conspiracy charges.

Further details on what caused the deaths of the five family members were not released by Weintraub at his late night press conference outside the scene.

“The investigation is ongoing. This is obviously a late-breaking situation,” Weintraub said, adding the crime was an “atrocious act.”

Both Shana and Dominique Decree do not have any recent criminal history in Bucks County. Shana Decree, according to public records, appears to bounced between addresses in North Carolina, New Jersey, and Bucks County over the past 20 years.

The district attorney told reporters law enforcement was looking for Joshua Campbell, 17, a relative of the deceased, adding he is not a suspect and they want to be sure he is safe.

George McClay, Morrisville’s police chief, told LevittownNow.com shortly after the bodies were found that there were no obvious signs of trauma and fire crews did not detect high levels of hazardous materials upon entrance to the apartment.

Shana and Dominique Decree were both taken from the scene late Monday afternoon for treatment. McClay had said one was suffering seizures and the other appeared dazed.

Authorities discovered the bodies after responding to the home for a welfare check, a source said.

“This is a terrible tragedy. I just spoke with the family of all five of the deceased and they are all heartbroken,” Weintraub said.

The coroner’s office arrived late in the night to remove the bodies from the apartment.
