A woman was treated Thursday for gunshot wounds she suffered in a reported accident.

Bristol Township police said they were called to Lower Bucks Hospital for a female township resident with four gunshot wounds. Upon arrival, they learned the wounds were the result of an “accidental discharge” at a home on Radcliffe Street.

“While cleaning the house, the female removed a container from a high shelf, forgetting a revolver was atop the container. The revolver hit the floor and discharged through her arm and torso, leaving an entry and exit wound in each,” police said in a press release.

The woman’s husband rushed her to the hospital, where doctors treated her non-life-threatening wounds, police said.

The woman remained under observation at the hospital as of Thursday evening.
