Bristol Township police have solved the case of the blue and white helicopter that landed suddenly in a field last month.
Lt. Ralph Johnson said the helicopter that landed in the at 7900 North Radcliffe Street and drew concern from a 9-1-1 caller was dropping off the owner of Silvi Concrete Products, which owns a riverfront industrial complex in the area.

“There was no mechanical trouble with the aircraft. Nearby surveillance video showed no smoke or distress,” Johnson said.
Police were initially interested last month after receiving a call that the helicopter landed with “bluish-grey smoke coming from the rotor/transmission area.” As the witness approached, a pilot exited the aircraft, looked at the engine and took off with making contact with the witness, police said at the time.
Firefighters from Edgely and Tullytown fire companies were called along with police to the location for the helicopter. The initial call was for a possible downed aircraft, but that was quickly found not to be the case.
