A Bristol Township man who struck a detective and led police on a car chase pleaded guilty in court Tuesday.
Michael Britton, 40, of Bristol Townshipโs Croydon section, made a plea of guilty on charges of escape,ย aggravated assault, fleeing police and related charges Tuesday at the Bucks County Justice Center in Doylestown, according to the Bucks County Courier Times.ย

Following Britton’s plea, he was sentenced to 3.5 to seven years in prison and four years probation, the newspaper reported.
Britton caused a police chase in Bensalem onย January 29 that ended with a civilian being injured after the 50 year old struck them toward the end of the pursuit atย State Road and Camer Drive.
Police were interested in Britton as part of another investigation. At the time,ย Bensalem Public Safety Director Fred Harran told 6abc.comย Britton hitย two unmarked police cars and one detective, who injuries were not life-threatening.
