Former Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Brandon Hughes has opened a new fitness center in Levittown.

Hughes, a 29-year-old Illinois native that has now relocated to Bristol Township’s Fairless Hills section with his wife, proudly opened Fuel House fitness center in the Park Place Center at 1025 Bristol-Oxford Valley Road in Middletown’s Levittown section this week.

The storefront fitness center is designed around Hughes’ plan to work out a person’s body and attitude.

The Fuel House website best sums up the ethos Hughes is building:

“We focus on improving physique and athleticism through strength and conditioning. We will teach you how to utilize every part of your body while building muscle and shedding unwanted weight.  Be prepared to carry, push, pull, stabilize and control.”

“What we offer here is unique,” he said. “I know I have a program that works.”

The five-year NFL veteran who currently helps coach football at Bensalem High School has his fitness classes mapped out on a calendar to make sure those looking to work with him are always challenged.

“You’ll never come in here and I won’t have a plan on the calendar,” he said.

Hughes, who played football with the San Diego Chargers, New York Football Giants, and Cleveland Browns, said his experiences working as an athletic trainer over the past few years has helped him learn about the importance of knowing the client and tailoring workout plans directly for them.

“You can come and work out – that’s fine. But I really want to know you through interactions.”

Hughes told LevittownNow.com he  looked at a large gym space in Bensalem and realized he wanted to have small classes and work more individually with clients, which fits his background as an athletic trainer.

Aside from Hughes, he is joined by a trainer and boxing trainer at his new fitness center.

Fuel House offers several packages, many customers only pay for when they show up, for clients or those interested in learning more. Currently, the fitness center offers specials on a monthly program and a Black and Orange founders membership.
