The holiday season is supposed to be filled with, joy, hope, family and friends, however, that is not the case for many of our friends and neighbors Lower Bucks County.

Lenape Valley Foundation is seeking to change that for those in need with their Holiday Assistance Program, which is an annual effort organized by LVF staff and volunteers.

The staff at LVF are appealing to companies and individuals alike to help by adopting families or individuals and bring them holiday cheer, during what can be a tough part of the year for anyone, but especially those living with challenges.

LVF officials say once an agreement is in place to “adopt” and become part of the holiday help program they will provide a wish list of holiday gifts of the person they are matched with.

Now with a support site on the grounds of Lower Bucks Hospital, LVF works to provide critical life sustaining services to many in the Levittown area, along with crisis services housed in the hospital.

Donors may elect to wrap the gifts or provide them unwrapped.ย  With the help of caring volunteers, LVF will coordinate the gift fulfillment process and unwrapped gifts will be wrapped. If you are unable to purchase gifts, but would like to make a monetary donation to be used for gift purchases, that would also be appreciated, a release from the human services agency said.

In addition to a number of on site supports LVF also offers ย a “Warm Line” for those who need a emphatic ear while facing a tough decision or situation. ย The warm line is staffed with Certified Peer Support Specialists who provide a non-judgmental person centered approach.
