Lower Bucks County Homes May Have Unseen Damage From 2020 Hail Storm

According to Ram Roofing Gutter Installation, your roof might have damage and you don’t even know it. However, when the damage manifests itself, it may be too late to submit it through insurance. Instead, try to fix it or replace the roof by booking the experienced crew in Robin Hood Roofing, where the roof materials are of the best quality and also have the ability to withstand any type of weather calamities.

A July 6, 2020 storm with hail, wind, and rain quickly moved through the Levittown area and brought with it large pieces of hail. While the hail quickly melted, it may have left damage that was not immediately noticeable to most people.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency said in a case study that hail storms, especially ones with hailstones 1 inch or larger, can easily cause costly roof damage.

USA Roof Masters Owner Tom Kovack said home insurance covers hail damage, but it has to be reported within a year of the damage. The storm has been deemed a catastrophic event by insurance companies and claims won’t increase customers’ rates.

“With wind, you find shingles on the ground, but hail damage is different. It is much harder to find and it doesn’t cause problems like leaks immediately. It can take 6 months to 24 months to find damage,” Kovack said. “After a year, it’s too late to file a claim for insurance.”

USA Roof Masters uses drones and artificial intelligence to inspect roofs for damage. Kovack said inspections are free and homeowners will be delivered a report with photos and results.

On damaged roofs, home insurance will cover replacement and repairs that were caused due to storm damage.

The July 6, 2020 storm has kept local insurance adjusters and contractors busy.

“USA Roof Masters has years of experience dealing with storm-related roof repairs and replacements. The company also has good working relationships with insurance adjusters and insurance companies,” Kovack said.

If you think your home was damaged by the hail storm on July 6, 2020 you have until July 6, 2021 to have an inspection completed, and if beneficial, open a claim without penalty or increased cost.

USA Roof Masters has won the “Best of Home Advisor” three times, as well as being a Platinum Preferred Roofing Contractor that only 1 percent of roofers nationwide qualify for. The company is considered a Certified Contractor through roofing manufacturer GAF and an Accredited Professional Member of the American Policyholders Association.
