When the people at WeBuyAnyHouseFast.com say they purchase houses “100 percent as is,” they aren’t kidding.
That means houses in any condition and with anything in them, including large reptiles.
“We bought a house in Fairless Hills last year where the sellers had left a five-foot alligator in the bedroom,” said co-owner Jeff Lister while sitting with his partner Jon Geftman in the company’s offices at the corner of New Falls Road and the Levittown Parkway in Levittown.
“Believe it or not, it’s not easy to get rid of an alligator,” Lister continued. “But we did it, and it’s happy in some zoo right now.”
He and Geftman met in 2007 when Lister sold Geftman an investment property. They started their business that same year.

“We concluded our transaction rather quickly and then soon realized that Jeff had a lot of skills, I had a lot of skills, and that if we merged together, we could do better as a partnership then individually,” Geftman said.
In the years since, the pair estimated they have bought, fixed up and resold several hundred houses, including many in Levittown but also other parts of Lower Bucks County, and Mercer and Burlington counties in New Jersey.
“Our focus is Levittown but we do business in about a 15-mile radius from our office,” Lister explained.
He and his partner offer a service they feel is very valuable for people in many different kinds of situations by purchasing their houses at fair market value, renovating and remodeling them and then reselling for a profit.
“A lot of people have a bad taste in their mouths and won’t call us because they think we’re stealing their house or something,” Lister said. “But for the homeowners we’re buying houses from, there’s a whole wall of testimonial letters in our office from people who are thankful for helping them out in their situation, whether it’s foreclosure, divorce, behind on taxes, inheriting a house, just a slew of reasons.
“There’s a lot of people who can’t sell their house on the traditional market in the traditional way. We come in and give those people a solution that’s easy, clean and nice with cash quickly, and no inspections.”
Geftman expanded on his partner’s thoughts.
“It’s very, very different than sellers who are hiring a real estate agent,” he said. “Real estate agents are very good at what they do, and that is marketing to find buyers.
“That involves a mortgage, that involves inspections and potentially expensive repairs and a lot of hiccups. Our transactions are seamless, fast and efficient and cost the seller not one penny.”
When buying houses and renovating them, WeBuyAnyHouseFast.com takes responsibility during the reselling process for all inspections, permits and other requirements, leaving those who sold them their houses without those worries, the partners said.
“We’re buying a property as is, and we can go to closing within 10 days, or anytime that our sellers want,” Lister said. “If, to use one example, you call a realtor days before your house is going up for sheriff’s sale, there’s nothing they can do. But, if you call us, we can help you.”
Lister grew up in Levittown, attending Pennsbury High School (1989 graduate) and Bucks County Technical High School. He was an electrician before getting into the real estate business in 2000.
Geftman, a Cheltenham native, got into property management in 1992 and then real estate investment in 1999. The two partners point to their recent purchase, renovation and resale of a house in the North Park section of Levittown for $450,000 as a rather dramatic example of how the service offered by their current business can benefit a wide range of people.
“We spent about $200,000 in labor and materials to revamp and remodel a house that was in deplorable condition, and made it like new,” Geftman said.
“This house had a fire and sat vacant for six or seven years, a complete eyesore for the neighbors,” Lister added. “We were able to purchase it and within months, there was a brand new house on the market and back on the tax rolls, and the Falls Township Code Enforcement department weren’t getting calls every week from people complaining about the eyesore.
“People went crazy on Facebook because of the $450,000 price for a house in Levittown, but what some of the people going crazy didn’t understand was that it just raised the value of everybody’s house in the area. It’s helpful to the whole community when we’re selling houses at a higher price, and the houses we sell are among the nicest in the neighborhood once we’re done.”
