The refreshed La-Z-Boy by the Oxford Valley Mall has reopened and ready to serve local residents.
Jeffery Kirchner, the manager for the store, said the renovations have made the location more visually appealing and inviting.
The location boasts a new design center and modern design styles to accommodate a myriad of customers.
In fall 2021, a virtual reality system will be added to allow customers to get a more comprehensive look at what La-Z-Boy product would look like in their home.
The store is a new concept for the company and will have tablets that allow customers to talk with staff as they move around the store.
While the classic recliner may come to mind when many people think of La-Z-Boy, Amy Patch, Market Sales Manager for the company, said the company offers furniture of all styles and types that can be customized to any personal style. She explained the company offers 600 fabrics and leather that customers can choose from at the store.
โWeโre not just that older traditional recliner,โ Patch said with a laugh.
โWe are all about comfort, and our mission is to turn peopleโs houses into homes,โ Kirchner said.
Much of La-Z-Boyโs sales are items that are customized.
Among the multitude of store offerings are reclining and non-reclining chairs, sofas, loveseats, accent chairs, DUO and Urban Attitudes special pieces, bedroom sets and dining sets spread across many collections. La-Z-Boy also sells and owns Made In The U.S.A., Kincaid, American Drew and Hammary furniture branded items, as well as the lamp collection Addi+ions, which is exclusive to La-Z-Boy.
All La-Z-Boy locations also offer free design consultation that includes virtual and in-person visits. The Langhorne store has designer Susan OโLeary, who has 25-plus years of design experience.

La-Z-Boyโs local designer is able to consult with customers in the store, virtually, and at in-home visits.
โWeโre fortunate that we have Susan with a visualizing background who can offer design at no charge. Weโre actually able to go out to their home and take all the measurements. Soup to nuts. The designer does an in-home consultation, brings fabrics, and then comes back and puts it on the computer screen where we give the customer a full presentation of what the room will look like fully furnished. We are all about comfort, and our mission is to turn peopleโs houses into homes,โ Kirchner said.
โThatโs the kind of service we provide to our customers. We try to think outside the box,โ he added.
A few years ago, the company was considering closing the local store for good. However, according to Patch, La-Z-Boy has decided to reinvest in the area and is encouraged by upcoming development in the area.
