From the outside, the majority of Levittown homes look alike. However, George Hyjurick knows that each one is different and special to the family that lives there.
George, who owns and operates Levittown-based Precision Remodeling Solutions, works with clients to keep the character and history of their home while bringing it up to date and providing all the modern luxuries.
With a decades-long career in home remodeling and improvements, George brings a fresh set of eyes to projects and has an extensive knowledge of Levittown homes.
“One of the things I try to do is build trust and get the client’s vision first. I want to find out what they want,” George explained. “I may have my ideas, but I always focus on what they want.”
Returning to remodel homes in Levittown and the surrounding area is something George’s career has built up to. He previously worked in management for a large home builder with $80 million in annual sales before leaving to return to Levittown, the place he was born and continues to live with his family, to start Precision Remodeling Solutions 11 years ago.
The team at Precision Remodeling Solutions keeps busy updating homes, building additions, and executing a number of other common home renovations, including installing roofing and new windows.
On a recent afternoon, George showed off a recent project Precision Remodeling Solutions undertook in Forsythia Gate. The Country Clubber model was an original built by William Levitt and had some 1950-era upgrades due to the original owner working for Levitt.
Precision Remodeling Solutions worked with the homeowners, who were relatives of the original owner, to plan out a renovation to fit their needs, keep the home’s original Levitt charm, and fit within their budget.
Nearly every inch of the home was refreshed and upgraded with modern amenities and style. The renovation took place over two phases to accommodate the budget and convenience to the family. The work kept the ahead-of-its-time open floor plan Levittown featured and converted the expandable attic into a modern work and relaxation area featuring exposed wood beams.
“The owner, he loves to cook, so we did this kitchen,” George explained showing off the modern cooking area with a stove fit for a restaurant.
Among the projects that George and Precision Remodeling Solutions have been taking on recently is the addition of in-law suites.
An October 2016 survey by the Center for American Progress showed that “extended family” households are growing. The Philadelphia area was among the fastest growing places for extended family households.
A study from the National Association of Realtors showed that 20 percent of home buyers are willing to pay more for a residence with an in-law suite.
George explained that his company is seeing more and more families who want room for older relatives.
“In-law suites can really be a benefit for the next generation too,” he said.
Another service Precision Remodeling Solutions offers is retrofitting homes for aging residents. Bucks County has the fourth largest senior citizen population of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties and the demographic is only getting older.
George explained that many older residents want to stay in their homes, but upgrades are needed to make it easier and safer for them to get by.

“This is why I started this. I live here – right in Highland Park – and I had this desire to start working more locally again,” George said. “For me, it’s all about the community and the customer.”
