Around noon, firefighters were dispatched to the Haines Road school for a report of a blaze.
There was the odor of something burning in parts of the first and second floors after a power surge in the building, according to Edgely Fire Company Chief Brian Cirard.
The kids were cleared from the building as firefighters determined there were no flames, the chief said.

The Edgely Fire Company, Bristol Township Fire Rescue, and Third District Fire Company worked the call.
Due to the initial report of a school building on fire, there was a much larger response that was quickly recalled after it was determined there was no blaze.
The kindergarten through fifth grade school, according to reports, has more than 900 students.
