The international grocery company disclosed the incident Monday and confirmed that brick-and-mortar store stores across the U.S. and Europe continue to operate.
“We are working to restore service as quickly as possible,” Giant Food Stores said in a statement posted to its website. “Any unfulfilled orders placed through Giantfoodstores.com or the GIANT app will be refunded. Delivery orders can be placed through Instacart, DoorDash, and Uber Eats.”
“GIANT stores, pharmacies, and fuel stations remain open during normal business hours,” the company stated.

Ahold Delhaize said technical teams have begun starting a “controlled re-launch of certain systems.”
“We recognize that these actions have caused disruption for customers, associates and partners, but protecting our infrastructure in the best interest of our customers, associates and partners is a top priority,” Ahold Delhaize said in a statement. “Our teams are working with urgency to investigate the incident and restore affected systems safely.”
Internal IT staff and third-party cybersecurity specialists are currently assisting the grocery retailer in managing the incident.
