Local District Court Releases Annual Recap After Thousands Of Cases

District Judge Daniel Baranoski, of District Court 07-01-07, has released the court’s annual recap for 2025, including a breakdown of traffic and criminal filings.

District Court 07-01-07 serves Hulmeville Borough, Langhorne Borough, Langhorne Manor Borough, Penndel Borough, Lower Southampton Township, as well as several voting districts of Middletown Township (Upper 2, 4, and Lower 1, 2, and 13).

The district court saw a total of 6,764 dockets in 2025. 

The filings include 5,004 traffic cases, 561 civil cases, 425 landlord-tenant cases, 333 criminal cases, 257 non-traffic cases, and 184 miscellaneous dockets.

The court handles a variety of cases, including traffic, non-traffic, and criminal. Matters that the court deals with include summary cases, search warrants, the issuing of arrest warrants and summons, emergency protection from abuse orders, and handling local ordinance and truancy violation cases. Civil cases and landlord-tenant cases up to $12,000 are also handled at this district court. Additionally, Baranoski swears in local officials and officiates marriages.

According to the court’s annual report, Lower Southampton Township had the most traffic and criminal filings in 2025, followed by Middletown Township. Langhorne Manor Borough saw the fewest filings in traffic and criminal cases last year.

The annual report also detailed the funds that the court collected in 2025. The collected funds include fines and victim restitution.

Last year, the district court disbursed $919,897.74 to various local governments. 

Of the disbursements, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania received $555,595.93. The court also distributed $261,103.70 to Bucks County, $66,252.10 to Lower Southampton Township, $15,703.46 to Middletown Township, $9,592.51 to Penndel Borough, $6,918.77 to Hulmeville Borough, $2,794.69 to Langhorne Borough, $534.85 to Neshaminy School District, and $394.45 to Langhorne Manor Borough.

Disbursements of $1,007.38 was also sent to other government agencies. A disbursement of $500.19 to Bensalem Township, which the court covered until 2007, was also seen as a result of collections related to old cases.

District Court 07-01-07 remains one of the few district courts to offer officiant services.

As a result, in 2025, Judge Baranoski performed 36 marriages.
