Incumbent Gov. Josh Shapiro, a Democrat, maintains a substantial financial lead over Republican challenger and state Treasurer Stacy Garrity, according to the latest campaign finance disclosures covering June 9 to Sept. 14.

During the three-month reporting window, Shapiro pulled in over $13.3 million, while Garrity brought in more than $1.8 million.
Expenditures for the period saw Shapiro’s campaign drop $31.8 million compared to Garrity’s $1.58 million.
Heading into the final weeks of the race, Shapiro had just under $20 million in the bank, while Garrity retains $1.3 million across her accounts.

Shapiro’s campaign reported no unpaid debts and obligations, and Garrity’s had $52,782.12.
By comparison, Republican State Sen. Doug Mastriano raised $3.1 million during the corresponding fundraising period in the 2022 gubernatorial race, according to PoliticsPA.

Across 2026, Shapiro’s fundraising total has reached $31.7 million, while Garrity has raised slightly less than $3.8 million.
Reporting from Pittsburgh’s Public Source showed that roughly half of Shapiro’s donations came from outside Pennsylvania, while approximately 86 percent of Garrity’s funding came from in-state contributors.
A poll released Thursday by The Philadelphia Inquirer, The New York Times, and Siena University shows Shapiro holding a 21-point lead over Garrity.

A majority of surveyed voters reported trusting the incumbent over Garrity on key issues, including the state’s economy, vaccine policies, management of the cost of living, and handling AI and data centers.
