Margaret (Peg) M. Hawley, age 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2026 surrounded by her family. Born in Beaver Brook, PA, she spent many happy years in McAdoo and Hazleton, PA, before moving to Fairless Hills in 1956. Peg was a faithful, long-term member of the St. Francis Cabrini parish and her Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life.
Peg retired from a long and successful career in banking in 2001. She loved her dogs, traveling, cooking for her family, her extended community of friends (and their dogs!) in the Avenrowe development, but most of all she loved every minute of her time spent with her husband, son, and grandchildren.
Married to William (Bill) D. Hawley in 1958, this year she would have celebrated 68 years of marriage filled with good fun, great laughs, and fond memories. They lived happily together in Trenton, Hamilton, and Yardville, NJ before returning to Fairless Hills, PA in 1978.
Peg is survived by her loving husband William D., son Kevin W. Hawley (Bordentown, NJ), granddaughter Sarah L. Hawley (Philadelphia, PA), grandson William F. Hawley (King of Prussia, PA), her wonderful sisters Eunice Muhlbauer (Bensalem, PA) and Sally Cann (Fairless Hills, PA), and many nieces and nephews throughout the area with whom she was especially close.
She was predeceased by her father Frank Cann, mother Susan (Scholler) Cann, brothers George Cann, Fred Cann, Frank Cann, Thomas Cann, and sisters Esther Rock and Mary Demshick.
At her request, a small interment ceremony was held on Tuesday, June 23 at her final resting place, next to her parents and brother Frank, at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem, PA.
