In a statement released Thursday, the Tullytown Borough Police Department said officers are actively patrolling the area to address ongoing concerns.
The department said that while enforcement is a priority, road safety remains a “shared responsibility.”
“Speed limits are in place for a reason, to protect the people who live, walk, drive, and work throughout our community,” the department said. “Excessive speed creates unnecessary danger and puts others at risk.”

Residents have voiced frustrations for years about the volume of large vehicles and high-speed traffic using Main Street as a thoroughfare.
Over the years, residents have gone to borough police and Pennsylvania State Police with complaints.

The department has officers on patrol, but officials said that drivers must change their behavior to prevent crashes.
“We are asking all motorists traveling through Tullytown to slow down, pay attention, and obey all traffic laws,” the statement read. “A few extra minutes of travel time is far better than the consequences that can come from reckless driving.”
The department thanked the community for cooperation as they continue to target violators of the traffic laws.
