Bristol Township police responded to Mitchell Road at 3:10 p.m. last Saturday for a report of a robbery.

Police said a man had arranged to meet a buyer at that location to sell a pair of shoes he had listed on the social media platform.

Once he arrived at the location, the seller messaged the buyer to announce his arrival.

Police said they identified the man who met him as Ronald James Baxter Jr., 24, of Bristol Township.

According to police, Baxter inspected the footwear before walking away with the sneakers without offering payment.

When the seller demanded the money, Baxter allegedly threatened him and reached inside his jacket.

Fearing that the 24-year-old man was reaching for a firearm, the seller fled and contacted 9-1-1, police said.

Officers located Baxter a short distance away after making contact with his parents, police said.

The seller later identified Baxter as the individual who took the shoes, per an affidavit of probable cause.

Additionally, police said they confirmed that the phone number used to coordinate the sale belonged to Baxter.

Baxter was charged with robbery, simple assault, terroristic threats with intent, theft, and reckless endangerment. He was preliminarily arraigned before on-call District Judge Mick Petrucci and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $75,000 bail.
