The restaurant on East Lincoln Highway near Woodbourne Road will celebrate its grand opening Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

While local rumors suggested the American-Chinese fast-food staple would open last fall, a company spokesperson confirmed the timeline was moved to early 2026.

Operating out of a 2,540-square-foot building, the new location features a drive-thru and is situated on a 1.6-acre site along East Lincoln Highway.

The property has additional acreage to potentially accommodate an additional drive-thru restaurant in the future, according to the developer.

The Middletown Township Board of Supervisors originally approved plans for the project in 2022.

As part of the development, Panda Express was required to upgrade the site’s parking area and existing stormwater management system.

The California-based chain also was required to put in a sidewalk along East Lincoln Highway to allow for better pedestrian access.

The site was previously home to the Blue Fountain Diner. In 2017, the diner was renamed to honor the Langhorne Speedway, a prominent regional racetrack that operated from 1926 to 1971.

Panda Express currently operates more than 2,200 locations worldwide, specializing in quick-service American-Chinese cuisine.
