PECO will begin an infrastructure project next month to update part of the local electric grid.

PECO is spending $190,000 in Middletown Township with the goal to improve overall reliability while accommodating the community’s shift toward cleaner energy technologies, including solar power and electric vehicles.
The work is scheduled to begin Feb. 16 and is expected to be completed by April 17.
According to the utility, the project will focus on the Brownsville Road, Butterworth Lane, Colonial Drive, and Old Lincoln Highway in the Langhorne section of the township.

Residents should expect to see PECO crews and contractors installing new underground conduits and electrical cables once the works starts.
The work may also involve the installation or replacement of pad-mounted transformers, according to a statement.

While the utility plans to restore any impacted streets or yards temporarily following construction, the project may require brief, planned service interruptions.
PECO said it will notify affected customers in advance of any outages when possible.
The company encouraged residents to update their contact information through the “MyAccount” section of its website or by phone to ensure they receive the latest updates.
