A contractor that does business with several rail lines has received approval to expanding its parking area at its building in Falls Township for its use.

PEG Rentals, which moved to the township recently, got the green light from the Falls Township Board of Supervisors late last month to make some changes to the industrial site at 95 Lower Morrisville Road.
PEG Rentals is a specialized business to expand its operations for outfitting railway vehicles for customers like SEPTA, Norfolk Southern, Amtrak, and Conrail.
The 4-acre property in the Planned Industrial Park district contains a 27,000-square-foot building that has functioned as an industrial facility for approximately six years.

The approved land development allows for expansion of a macadam lay down area in the parking lot to accommodate the PEG Rentals’ operations in the township.
PEG Rentals agreed to keep neighbors happy and not impact most of the trees in the buffer areas of the property.

A retaining wall will be constructed near one of the buffers to avoid erosion on a slope.
The Falls Township Planning Commission provided unanimous recommendation for approval in October.
The company received dimensional variances from the zoning hearing board in 2024.

“[The company] outfits vehicles for use on rail truck bucket trucks, if you would, for high voltage electrical work, SUVs, even whatever it is to drive on the rails,” said Supervisor Chairman Jeff Dence, describing the specialized nature of the business. “It’s a very unique business.”
The company takes vehicles that have exceeded their rental dates and converts them into specialized railway maintenance equipment.

“The business operates to take care of some really important fixes for the railroads,” said Chelsey Crocker Jackman, the attorney for PEG Rentals.
