Construction is well underway in Bristol Township on a major $8 million project that will benefit senior citizens and firefighters.

Work is progressing on the new Bristol Township Senior Center, a 10,000-square-foot facility being built at the Municipal Complex on Bath Road, right next to the current building.
The new center is slated to replace the long-standing facility, which has been in use for many years and is known as one of the busiest in the county for programs aimed at residents 55 and older.
The project broke ground in September 2024.
As the new senior center is nearing completion, the existing building will be converted into a new fire station that will house the township’s career firefighters.

Last week, construction was already moving forward on the conversion, which includes adding needed garage bays for fire apparatus.
The new station will address longstanding needs for better space.
Bristol Township Fire Rescue Chief and Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said last year that his department has been operating out of a temporary pole barn and has limited space at its current location on the township campus.
The project’s $8 million price tag was offset by securing both federal and state funds. State Rep. Tina Davis, a Democrat, secured $2 million in state funds, and Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick secured a substantial $4 million federal grant.

Township Manager Randee Mazur noted last September that starting the project at that time allowed the municipality to save money on overall costs.
