Glenn L. King, 61, of Bristol Township, was sentenced by Bucks County Court of Common Pleas Judge Wallace Bateman last week to nine to 23 months in the Bucks County Correctional Facility with credit for time served, according to court records. He was also ordered to serve three years of probation, pay $3,900 in restitution, take prescribed medication, and have no contact with the victim.

King pleaded guilty in April to aggravated assault and criminal mischief.

According to court papers, Bristol Township police responded on Jan. 17 to a call at The Village Lodge motel on Route 13 for a report that someone was attempting to light a car on fire with a blowtorch and kerosene.

The victim, who is the motel’s owner, told police King, a former maintenance worker, arrived in a Honda CRV and began covering the owner’s Lexus sedan with kerosene.

The victim said he approached King, who had kerosene in one hand and a lit blowtorch in the other, and asked what he was doing, police said.

According to court papers, King then turned and sprayed the victim with kerosene before reaching toward him with the lit blowtorch.

The victim ran toward the office for safety.

King allegedly pursued him, yelling, “I’m going to f***ing kill you and burn this place down.”

King then sprayed the office door with kerosene after the victim had shut it.

A different motel employee talked to King outside the victim’s car, but King allegedly returned to his Honda to get another accelerant.

Police said King walked back to the Lexus and used a blowtorch with a flammable spray to create a flamethrower and set the car on fire.

King fled the scene before police arrived.

Authorities said the incident was captured on camera and that they were familiar with King from past calls for service.
