Middletown Township police were called to the CarMax on East Lincoln Highway at 5:22 a.m. Thursday, April 10, for an unknown disturbance.

According to court papers, a 9-1-1 call originated from a landline at the dealership from a man who told dispatchers he was being chased and harassed.

Responding officers found Justin Stephen Haines, 37, of Levittown, inside the waiting room. Police said Haines was eating from a vending machine and pacing, appearing confused and not responding to officers.

Officers observed shattered glass inside the building before making entry and taking Haines into custody.

CarMax staff reported two broken windows, a damaged computer, and displaced office supplies.

Staff at the dealership told police Haines had no legitimate reason to be inside the building.

Haines was charged with burglary, criminal mischief and criminal trespassing. He was preliminarily arraigned by District Judge Charles Jonas and committed to jail after failing to post bail.
