The closed restaurant at 1440 East Lincoln Highway, near Lowe’s Home Improvement, has been undergoing demolition for the past two weeks.

In late 2023, the Middletown Township Board of Supervisors approved a plan to redevelop the site. The plan calls for a 5,400-square-foot Chick-fil-A with a double drive-thru.

The drive-thru lanes will be designed to accommodate up to 44 vehicles at a time, with the aim of easing congestion at the existing Chick-fil-A in Lincoln Plaza.

The project comes after a previous proposal to build a Chick-fil-A at the nearby Langhorne Square Shopping Center along East Lincoln Highway did not materialize.

Ruby Tuesday, which occupied the site, closed in 2021 amid financial struggles and overdue rent payments.
