Troopers said the program is scheduled to be held at Camp Fowler in Lehigh County from June 8 through June 13.

The overnight summer camp is open to boys and girls aged 12 to 15.

According to state police, the camp aims to introduce young cadets to the varied aspects of the criminal justice system and foster positive relationships between law enforcement officials and youth. The camp environment mirrors that of a real Pennsylvania State Police Academy.

Throughout the week, cadets will experience presentations from various municipal, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

The program emphasizes teamwork, honesty, integrity, and discipline. It also focuses on building self-esteem and promoting wise decision-making skills among the young participants, troopers said.

By the end of the camp, attendees are expected to not only feel proud of their achievements but also have a deeper understanding of the responsibilities and challenges of a law enforcement officerโ€™s role.

Registration for Troop M’s Camp Cadet is currently open and will continue through February or until all available slots are filled. Prospective participants can register online.
