As the Philadelphia Eagles gear up for the NFC Championship Game against the Washington Commanders at Lincoln Financial Field, local law enforcement is taking no chances during potential post-game celebrations.

Historically, Eagles fans have gathered at the Five Points intersection where Bristol Township and Middletown Township meet to celebrate major wins. However, this year, Bristol Township police are implementing stricter measures to keep the intersection clear.

The change comes in the wake of several recent attacks involving vehicles striking civilians during large gatherings.

Bristol Township police have announced there will be a noticeable increase in officers around the Five Points intersection for the game this Sunday.

“In light of several national tragedies recently where vehicles have struck civilians during celebrations or events being held, we are requesting the intersection remain clear,” the department posted on social media.

Cops have asked fans to celebrate responsibly and consider alternatives, like celebrating at local establishments or private homes.

“We understand this is an exciting time but we strive to keep everyone safe 24/7 and this is no different,” police said.

The decision reflects a growing locally and nationally concern over vehicle ramming attacks, which have occurred both in the U.S. and internationally.

Although celebrations in Levittown’s Five Points have historically been tame, there have been arrests and citations in the past due to some overly excited fans.
