Levittown Man Killed In Hit-&-Run Crash

A Levittown father was killed last week in a hit-and-run accident on I-95 in Philadelphia, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Peter A. Sorochinski Jr., 24, died after a crash that led to him being struck last Tuesday at approximately 8:57 p.m. near the I-95 south on-ramp from Market Street, state police said.

State police reported that the incident began when Sorochinski’s vehicle hit an impact attenuator on the left side of the highway. The vehicle then crossed over two lanes and struck the concrete barrier on the right, finally coming to a stop in a merging lane.

After exiting his vehicle with a suspected head injury, Sorochinski was on the phone when he unexpectedly stepped into the right southbound lane and was struck by a silver sedan, troopers said.

The sedan fled the scene after hitting the man, state police said.

After the initial hit, Sorochinski was struck by two other vehicles, whose drivers remained at the scene, state police said.

The Levittown man sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:08 p.m.

Sorochinski, who worked as a heavy equipment operator, is survived by his fiancée and a young daughter. He was known for his love of motorcycles, quads, and motocross, according to his obituary.
