Police Log: DUI Arrests, Strangulation & More

February 8

Arrest

Officers were dispatched to the Reach Out Foundation for the report of a disorderly subject. Upon arrival, officers found a white male with a black jacket outside of the building. While speaking to the subject, he was identified as a 48-year-old man. It was found that the man had three active bench warrants for his arrest. During the search after his arrest, it was found that the man had baggies of a white unknown substance and paraphernalia consistent with the use of narcotics. The man was arrested on the outstanding warrants and will be charged pending the outcome of lab testing of the white substance.

Arrest

Penndel Borough officers were notified by a Hulmeville Borough officer that there was a wanted subject at the district court. Officers arrived and double checked the warrant status. The subject was identified as a 22-year-old man and detained. Deputies of the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Unit were called, and they arrived a short time later. The deputies took custody of the man for transport to the Bucks County prison.ย 

April 17

DUI

An officer on patrol of Lincoln Highway observed a silver Honda Accord straddling the dashed white line which divides the Eastbound Lanes. The officer also witnessed the vehicle make a left turn on to Bellevue Ave without using a turn signal and made the turn so wide that it crossed over the double yellow line on Bellevue Avenue and drove in the wrong direction. The vehicle was stopped and contact was made with the driver, and sole occupant, a 50-year-old man. While speaking to the man, the officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and person. The man was also unable to complete field sobriety testing. He was arrested for DUI and will be sent a summons to appear in court.

June 13

DUI

An officer on patrol on Lincoln Highway observed a vehicle straddling he double yellow line and was swerving back and forth between the eastbound and westbound lanes. The vehicle was stopped, and contact was made with the driver and sole occupant, a 26-year-old man.ย The man had trouble following simple directions and an odor of an alcoholic beverage was coming from his breath and person.ย The man was asked to participate in field sobriety testing, which he was unable to complete.ย The man was arrested for DUI and will be sent a summons to appear in court.ย 

July 7

Assault

A woman called 9-1-1 to report an assault by her ex-boyfriend. Upon arriving and speaking with the victim, she reported that her ex-boyfriend, a 30-year-old man, had trapped her on her bed and used his hands to squeeze tightly to the point where she felt like she was going to pass out. Officers could see marks on both sides of her neck as they spoke to the victim. The victim was able to use weapon to get the man off of her and he subsequently left the apartment. Due to the domestic nature of the assault, a warrant was put out for his arrest. The man was arrested in Delaware County and placed into Bucks County prison to await a hearing.

July 26

DUI

Officers were dispatched to the 7-Eleven on West Lincoln Highway for the report of an accident. It was reported that a vehicle had struck a parked car and was trying to leave the area. While speaking to the owners of the vehicle, an odor of an alcoholic beverage could be detected by officers coming from a 63-year-old man. The man reported that he had consumed beers before driving. The man was unstable on his feet and was unable to complete field sobriety testing. He was transported to a local ER for treatment. During his stay in the ER, blood was obtained based off of the signs the man displayed on the accident scene. A summons will be sent to the man to appear in court pending the outcome of lab testing.
