The two boats smashed together around 8:50 p.m. in the Delaware River in the area of the Pennsylvania Turnpike/I-95 bridge that connects Bristol Township to New Jersey.
Firefighters, police, and medics were called to the river and found one damaged boat near the bridge, Edgely Fire Company Assistant Chief Dan Pasciullo said.
Firefighters communicated with the boater, and he stated he was struck by another vessel that left the scene, Pasciullo said.

The boater was not hurt, but his vessel had no power.
The other boat involved in the crash was found sinking in Tullytown Borough by a New Jersey State Police boat responding to the crash call, according to authorities.

Two women who were on the sinking boat made it to shore and were not seriously hurt, Pasciullo said.
The operator of the sinking boat was not at the scene and was believed to have fled, sources said.
By 10 p.m., crews were clear of the river.
