

A car crash off Bordentown Road resulted in injuries, a vehicle in a local lake, and now charges, according to court records.

The Tullytown Borough Police Department was alerted to a crash around 10:25 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, following a 9-1-1 call reporting that a vehicle had veered off the road near the PECO station and disappeared. The caller stated screams could be heard from the area.
As they pulled up, Tullytown Borough police discovered two people who were in the car at the scene. One reported that their car had ended up in the lake.
Officers found a woman wet, covered in dirt and lily pads, and with cuts, police said.

A 19-year-old Trevose man, identified as the driver, was also found in a similar state and appeared to have injuries.
Responders rendered aid and traced the tire tracks from the roadway leading directly into the lake at Penn Warner Club, police said.

According to police, earlier in the evening, the 19-year-old man and woman had been at Quaker Penn Park in Falls Township where the woman admitted to consuming alcoholic drinks.
The 19-year-old man told the officers he left the park and lost control of the vehicle while responding to a call about a friend being attacked, police said.
An officer noted in court papers that the 19-year-old man, who claimed he had not been drinking, smelled of alcoholic beverage.

A security guard from the nearby Penn Warner Club reported seeing the car speeding before the crash, police said.
The investigation revealed that the vehicle had left the roadway, traveled down a hill, struck the side of a tree, and continued through bushes before going into the lake.

Debris from the vehicle was scattered around the scene, and a tow truck was needed to pull out the submerged car.
Officers noted the smell of alcohol inside the vehicle, and a crushed can of alcoholic beverage fell out of the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle found 13 cans of Twisted Tea, six of which were open, alongside suspected THC oil concentrate and a piece of suspected drug paraphernalia, police said.
Both the 19-year-old man and the female passenger were transported to local hospitals for treatment of their non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said they asked St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown Township to retain a sample of the driver’s blood for testing.
The 19-year-old man had a suspended license and was wanted by Falls Township police at the time of the crash, police said.
The 19-year-old man was charged recently via summons with accidents involving injuries while not licensed, DUI, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving, driving at an unsafe speed, failure to use seat belt, and other summary offenses.
