Five people, including two juveniles, were apprehended recently after allegedly breaking into the shuttered Franklin D. Roosevelt Middle School in Bristol Township.

Police responded to burglary alarm activation at the vacant school located on Veterans Highway at approximately 8:31 p.m. on Monday, April 22.
Upon entering through the cafeteria, a Bristol Township police sergeant discovered multiple people inside the building, according to authorities.
Police said five people fled the building but were quickly taken into custody by two officers outside.

The group consisted of two juveniles, ages 14 and 16, and three adults— two 21 year olds from Lower Makefield Township and Morrisville Borough and a 22-year-old from Bristol Township, police said.

The group removed plywood covering a doorway and broke a door to the school to gain entry, police said.

One of the juveniles told police that the adults had invited him to explore the abandoned facility, police said.
The three adults have been charged with criminal trespassing – breaking into a structure and corruption of minors. They were released after each posted $2,500 bail, according to court papers.
The former middle school has been closed since March of 2022.

The Bristol Township School District plans to sell the 31.7-acre property to Crystal Window and Door Systems. The proposed plan includes transforming the site into a manufacturing and assembly facility. The company will also develop a community park one part of the land.
