Man Injured After Hand Gets Caught In Trash Compactor

A man suffered injuries to his hand after it became trapped in a trash compactor in Falls Township, according to authorities.

The incident occurred late Monday afternoon in the 300 block of Andover Road in the Fairless Hills section.

Fairless Hills Fire Company Deputy Chief Tony Montonario confirmed that firefighters arrived to find the man’s hand free from the compactor, but he was suffering from serious injuries to his hand.

Crews from the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad arrived and provided emergency care, Montanaro said.

The wounded man was transported by the rescue squad to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown Township for additional treatment.
