The event in its 14th year saw fifth-grade students participating in a flag football competition to support the Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter in Bristol Township.
Led by their teachers at the Falls Township elementary school, the students have been collecting non-perishable food items in the days leading up to the game.

The competition, which takes place each year on the Friday before the Super Bowl, was the brainchild of fifth-grade teachers Jason Miller and Roger Kean.

This year, the teams, named after their class mascots, included the Kean Kongs, Mean Machines, Rodriguez Raptors, and Toledano Tornadoes.

The students were wearing custom-designed t-shirts representing their teams and competed for the coveted trophy.

The entire school community came together to cheer the teams on.

“The game is a friendly competition amongst the 5th-grade homerooms, but it is more aboutย having fun and working together as a team while displaying our three Positive Behaviorย Interventions and Supports core values of being responsible, respectful, and safe,” said Lisaย Follman, principal of Eleanor Roosevelt Elementary School.
The event concluded with the Mean Machines, led by teacher Jason Miller, claiming victory in this year’s competition. Morgan Brown from the Rodriguez Raptors was named the Most Valuable Player of the game.
