A Halloween altercation among a group of teenagers in Bensalem Township escalated into gunfire, leaving one teenager dead and two others injured, authorities said in a late Tuesday night update.
Bensalem Township police were called to the intersection of Bristol Pike and Woodbine Avenue at 7:35 p.m. on Monday after reports of a large fight.

As officers were responding, the incident quickly was upgraded to a shooting call.
Upon arrival, police discovered three gunshot victims.
All were rushed to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in Philadelphia, police said.

A 14-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital, and the other two victims suffered wounds to their lower bodies, with one being treated and released and the other remaining in stable condition, police said.
The deceased teenager’s identity is being withheld pending family notifications.

Witnesses reported the shots were fired from a vehicle parked at Woodbine Avenue and Route 13, which fled north on Route 13 at high speed immediately after the incident, police said.
Police are expected to release a description of the vehicle as their investigation progresses.
The Bensalem Police Department has declared it an active investigation.
