Firefighters quickly put out a kitchen fire at a home in Bristol Borough on Thursday afternoon.

At 3:06 p.m., fire crews from the American Hose, Hook, and Ladder; Bristol Consolidated; Bristol; Croydon; Goodwill Hose; and Third District fire companies were dispatched following reports of a dwelling fire.
Upon their arrival, crews observed a light smoke condition originating from a room at the rear of the first floor of a home in the 400 block of Jefferson Avenue, Bristol Borough Fire Chief Herb Slack said.
As teams continued checking the home, a working fire was discovered in the kitchen of the adjacent property on Jefferson Avenue, Slack said.

Crews got to work, and the blaze was promptly extinguished the kitchen blaze, Slack said.
The fire chief told LevittownNow.com no residents were present during the incident, and there were no injuries reported.

The kitchen of the home where the fire occurred was damaged. Heat and smoke also damaged other parts of the first floor, while the second floor suffered some smoke damage, Slack said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the Bucks County Fire Marshal’s office is assisting.
The fire chief said cooking has been ruled out as a possible cause.

In addition to the initial responding fire companies, the Edgley, Fairless Hills, Newportville, and Newport responded to assist with the blaze.
