A Langhorne man has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run that left a 64-year-old Bensalem Township resident severely injured, local authorities confirmed.

The incident took place on Saturday, August 5, around 7:50 p.m. on Neshaminy Valley Drive in Bensalem Township. Police said the 64-year-old man was struck by an illegal dirt bike, which then sped away from the scene and was accompanied by a second illegal dirt bike rider.
The 64-year-old man was rushed to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in Philadelphia.
He was found to have a fractured left clavicle, multiple rib fractures, a right orbital fracture, and a broken tibia and fibula that necessitated surgery, police said.

After the incident, Bensalem Township police released photographs of the suspects and the bikes. They were shared on LevittownNow.com and in other local media outlets.
On Wednesday, August 9, Brian M. Barlow Sr., 33, of Langhorne, the alleged operator of the dirt bike, appeared at the police station accompanied by his attorney. Barlow provided a statement as detectives investigated the incident, police said.

On Monday, Barlow turned himself over to Bensalem Township police and was arrested.
Barlow was charged with accidents involving death or personal injury, accidents involving death or personal injury while not properly licensed, careless driving, failure to stop and give information or render aid, and related summary offenses. He was preliminarily arraigned by District Justice Brian Marriott and released on his own recognizance.
The second dirt bike rider, who was not implicated in the hit-and-run crash, was cited for multiple summary traffic offenses due to the illegal operation of the dirt bike in Bensalem Township.

“The Bensalem Township Police will continue to have zero tolerance for the operation of illegal dirt bikes on our roadways,” police said.
