Around 7 p.m., Falls Township officers rushed to the parking lot of the Home Depot on Commerce Boulevard and discovered the man in the car was deceased, according to Falls Township Chief of Police Nelson Whitney.

The man was identified as a 58-year-old Newtown Borough man.

Whitney said notes at the scene and other evidence indicated the man died by suicide.

Hours before the man was located in his BMW, he had been reported missing and there was concern because he left a copy of his will out inside his home, Whitney said.

“It is always very sad when events like this occur. Our thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones of [the man],” the chief said.
