Power Restored For Most In Levittown Area

Power was restored for most of the Levittown area following Saturday’s storms, but downed branches and trees remained spread across the area as of Sunday evening.

According to PECO, just under 200 residents in the area, with the largest amount being in Falls Township, remained in the dark as of 7 p.m.

Shortly after Saturday evening’s storms that brought rain, hail, lightning, and strong winds, about 5,600 PECO customers in the Levittown area did not have power.

Some of the most serious damage was reported in Falls Township.

Trees and wires were downed Saturday around 7 p.m. along Falls-Tullytown Road, Tyburn Road, Pennsylvania Avenue, Newbold Road, and other roadways in the township, Falls Township Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said.

Readers said downed trees were also reported in the Pennwood Crossing mobile home park, in Fallsington, and along Stony Hill Road

Utility, municipal, and state crews were out throughout Saturday night dealing with storm damage.

In Bristol Township, a tree fell on a home on Blue Ridge Drive in Levittown and one fell onto a structure and pole in Croydon, Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito.

The National Weather Service said the system that passed over Lower Bucks County as it moved into New Jersey ended up being tornado in the Garden State. There are no reports as of Sunday the tornado touched down in Bucks County.
