Electron Rocket Launch Scheduled For Tuesday, Will Be Visible From Bucks County

Bucks Countians will have the chance to view a rocket as it blasts off into space Tuesday evening.

As long as the skies remain clear, Rocket Lab’s Electron rocket will blast off from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia Tuesday. The launch window is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

NASA said the weather is 90 percent favorable for the launch window. The launch was pushed from Monday due to poor weather.

The rocket will be able to be seen in the eastern portion of the sky from between 60 to 120 seconds after take off, according to NASA.

The Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport on Wallops Island’s Launch Complex 2 will serve as the launch pad for the 59-foot-tall Electron rocket. HawkEye 360’s “Virginia is for Launch Lovers” mission will place radio frequency monitoring satellites in orbit, NASA said.

Tuesday afternoon at the Wallops Flight Facility is expected to be sunny, with a high near 50 degrees and a westerly wind of 7 to 10 mph. Tuesday night is expected to have generally clear skies and a light, changeable wind, according to the National Weather Service.

A live launch webcast will be broadcast at rocketlabusa.com/live-stream beginning about 40 minutes before launch.
