A violent crash had enough force to break a classic Ford Mustang into two pieces Tuesday evening.

The wreck happened just past 5:45 p.m. on Route 13 at the Commerce Circle intersection in Bristol Borough.
Joe Moors, the borough’s police chief, said the crash involved two vehicles, which were the Mustang and a Chevrolet sedan.
The drivers of the cars were not seriously injured, the chief said.

Bystanders and images from the scene showed the truck and rear tires ripped from the 1980s- or early 1990s-era Mustang. The body of the car remained on the roadway and the rear portion went off the roadway.
A LevittownNow.com reader who was driving through the shopping center reported the rear portion of the Mustang was ablaze and ended up on top of a sign.

Portions of Route 13 were blocked following the crash, but the roadway had fully reopened by 7:35 p.m.
