Word has spread throughout the riverfront community recently that Bristol Selecto Supermarket will be changing hands and possibly names.

Bucks County Courier Times reporter Damon C. Williams wrote the business at the corner of Pond and Walnut streets will be sold to a new owner and the name will change. The article didn’t announce who the new owner will be.

“The new owners coming in have a similar background to us with deep history in the Hispanic community, and their ambitions here are to do some minor renovations to the store, building out some new things, and trying different programs,” Bristol Selecto Supermarket manager Edwin Herrera told the newspaper.

The report also said the current staff will remain employed under the new owner.

Family-owned Bristol Selecto Supermarket has been a staple in Bristol Borough over the years. It is the town’s only grocery store and the only one for some distance in parts of Bristol Township.
