About 20 years ago then-middle schooler Alex Forman sat in the auditorium of Maple Point Middle School with his peers to honor veterans. In 2022, he was among the veterans being honored.

Forman, a Middletown Township native now living in Yardley, returned to his former middle school Thursday morning to attend the school’s annual Veterans Day celebration.
As he sat in the audience as a kid, he knew he wanted to join the military and relished seeing the veterans on stage.
Now, he is a U.S. Army veteran who works in logistics for the U.S. Department of Defense.

“I always wanted to come back here,” he said of the ceremony. “And it’s full circle.”
Forman’s service took him across the U.S. and to Europe, but he ended up back in Bucks County with his wife and growing family.
Forman was one of dozens of veterans honored by the students at the Neshaminy School District middle school on Thursday.

“There is a distinct honor in serving to protect our way of life and the Constitution of the United States of America,” Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub told the gathered veterans and students.
Weintraub said it is too little to honor veterans on only one day.

“Let’s try to honor them every day in every way … we have to remember the service of our veterans,” he said. “They have sacrificed so much so we can live free.”

Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick and State Rep. Frank Farry were in attendance.
Following the ceremony, some of the veterans joined with students to take a group photo at the large American flag painted on the hill outside the school building.
