A Falls Township man was convicted by a jury of one count of rape of a child and two counts each of aggravated indecent assault of a child, indecent assault, indecent exposure, corruption of minors, and unlawful contact with a minor.
Craig S. Hartman, 68, was convicted Thursday at the Justice Center in Doylestown Borough following a trial that started earlier this week.

Bucks County Court of Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey Finley deferred sentencing for Hartman until he can undergo a state sex offender assessment.
Hartman was arrested early last year and charged with sexually assaulting two young girls multiple times in Falls and Middletown townships.
The girls said the sexual assault occurred at residences, a pool, and other locations, according to authorities.

One of the girls told investigators Hartman exposed himself to her and masturbated at a local park. He also reportedly encouraged the girls to expose themselves.
Deputy District Attorney Kristin McElroy, according to a statement, asked jurors to find Hartman accountable for the sexual assaults.

“McElroy played emotional interviews from the Bucks County Child Advocacy Center where the girls, sometimes in tears, described the sexual assaults to a forensic interviewer. One victim told the interviewer she was raped by Hartman in his apartment,” the statement continued.
“No child would go through that if it wasn’t the truth,” McElroy said in court.
Court papers stated Falls Township police began probing the sexual assault allegations in July 2020 when a then-10-year-old girl came forward.
