The Water’s Edge Gastropub and Lounge and Neshaminy Creekside Inn have closed their doors, management confirmed to LevittownNow.com.
The restaurant and inn located along the Neshaminy Creek off Route 13 in Bensalem Township posted on social media earlier this month they were closed for maintenance, but confirmed in a statement Wednesday that they were closed for good.

The creekside businesses sits across from Bristol Township’s Croydon section and had become a popular destination in recent years for those visiting by land or water.
A story on 6abc this week featured people who had put down thousands in deposits for future events and had not received their money back.
“All she wanted to do is walk down the aisle in a dress and have her dad give her away. And they took it from us,” Stephen Dixon told the TV station. He was set to marry his fiancé at the venue next year and had put down $4,300.

One person who booked an event said the business offered to serve liquor, but the eatery did not have a liquor license.
In a statement issued to this news organization Wednesday, the businesses said an “unfortunate circumstance” led to their closures.

“We ask that you please be patience as we work through this transition and please know that all deposits received for upcoming parties will receive a refund check by mail. We are very sorry for the inconveniences this has caused,” the statement signed by management said.
The restaurant has previously been High Tides Restaurant and Bar, but that business had troubles after several incidents and complaints from Bensalem Township and Bristol Township residents.
The Pennsylvania State Police’s Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement and Bucks County District Attorney’s Office filed paperwork in 2019 to determine if the business was a “public nuisance.”

In August 2020, High Tides Restaurant and Bar became Water’s Edge Gastropub and Lounge and promised a “new name,” “new management,” and a “new attitude.”
According to a state police press release from 2021, Water’s Edge Gastropub and Lounge ran afoul of a previous agreement entered into with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. In March 2022, state police again alleged the business failed to “adhere to the conditions of the agreement enter into with the board placing additional restrictions upon the subject license.

By this summer, customers were asking on social media when the business would get its liquor license back.
The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board said that the liquor license for the address is owned by High Tides Investors LLC and in “safekeeping” status, which means it is currently not in use.
