The national spotlight has been shined on a recent campaign staffer for Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick.

Billy Lanzilotti, who led a Republican ward in Philadelphia in addition to working for the Bucks County-based congressman, was featured in reporting by the Philadelphia Inquirer that was picked up nationally. The story was in response to concerns of a “potential ‘ballot harvesting’ scheme.”
The regional newspaper reported Lanzilotti had been getting fellow Republicans ballots sent to an address connected to him instead of the voters’ homes.
Some of the Philadelphians the Inquirer spoke to said they never applied to vote by mail.

Lanzilotti was removed as ward leader following the reporting.
According to Federal Election Commission (FEC) documents, Lanzilotti worked for the Fitzpatrick campaign from January through at least March. He had been paid a little more than $7,000 by the campaign.

The Philadelphia Inquirer said Lanzilotti was described by Fitzpatrick campaign staffers as a paid intern. He reportedly is no longer with the campaign.
Fitzpatrick’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment from LevittownNow.com.
In 2018, political operative Ariel Benjamin Mannes was caught posing as a reporter at events for a Democratic candidate in the First Congressional District. It was revealed he worked for Fitzpatrick’s campaign before they cut ties after his actions became public.
