The fire started on the outside of the home and spread inside. It ended up going into the attic, Edgely Fire Company Chief Brian Cirard said.
Firefighters opened up the walls and ceiling to stop the blaze, Cirard said.
The residents were home, but they were not hurt.

Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said he still had to speak to the some witnesses, as the investigation continued Monday evening.
The home was left uninhabitable because the electrical system was damaged, Dippolito said.
