An arriving officer spotted the man – identified as Pablo Saez, 28, of Willingboro, New Jersey – on the ground and being detained by a fellow officer and a detective. Saez stated he did have a knife, but not at that exact moment, according to court papers.

A witness and the reported victim, a man, said Saez started a confrontation. The witness spotted the 28 year old attacking the man and pulling a knife after yelling at him, police said.

Saez was shouting that the man he then attacked had called the police on him, but the man denied that to Saez before the assault, police said.

The witness and the man who was first attacked held Saez down and kept him from using the knife. Saez then punched the witness in the face before officers arrived, police said.

The two men suffered injuries to their faces and hands.

An officer, according to court papers, found a black folding pocket knife.

Saez was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned by on-call District Judge Regina Armitage on 10 percent of $100,000.
