The Bucks County Commissioners have approved a continuation of their contract to provide COVID-19 vaccinations.
At their meeting Wednesday, the commissioners unanimously approved an extension running from August 1 to December 31 with Reston, Virginia-based AMI Expeditionary Healthcare. The contract is being paid through federal COVID-19 aid dollars.

While medical centers and pharmacies throughout the county are offering vaccinations, county government-backed sites, pop-up events, and mobile vaccination strike forces have continued operating.
As vaccine demand has waned, the county-backed sites have dropped from five to two that remain open at the Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem Township and at a shopping center in Warwick Township.
The county started working with AMI Expeditionary Healthcare in January when they opened testing sites and expanded the partnership in February as vaccination efforts ramped up. The state has been working with AMI Expeditionary Healthcare since last year.

Between all venues, 307,844 Bucks Countians are fully vaccinated and 37,079 are partially covered, according to Pennsylvania Department of Health data.
